Hazel has a little lamb thanks to a dear, old friend, Jenni (who isn’t really old since I watched her grow up). Isn’t it cute? I saw a recent blog post of Jenni’s about her latest craft project and I just had to have one for Hazel because it is so cute…not creepy like her husband, Jaron, states. The little lamb reminded me of Holly’s statement to me about ten years ago that everyone knows that cotton comes from sheep. Now why in the world would a bright, articulate young person believe something so ridiculous one might wonder…I know I did. It was simple. Holly explained that she deduced this fact all on her own back when she was a little girl in Sunday School and Junior Church. How did she come to that conclusion? She explained further that it was easy for her to come to that logical end because whenever they made little lambs in arts and crafts time in Sunday School and Junior Church they always used cotton balls. She was a completely urban little girl so don’t knock it too hard. Anyway, Jenni’s father was one of Holly’s favorite teachers in Junior Church so it seemed only fitting that since her daddy is partly responsible for leading Holly down this silly path that his daughter’s Lilly Lamby creation should become Hazel’s new favorite lovey toy. It’s a facetious reach on my part, I know, but Jenni is a sweet and gracious young lady who agreed and quickly made this sweet lamby for Hazel. Holly was tickled and so surprised. And Miss Hazey-Face? She seems to like cuddling with her cotton lamby. It has this wonderful, nubby-textured material that she loves clutching with her chubby little fingers.
Thank you so much Jenni! You are awesome!
