Adventures in Juggling

babywearing tradition

July 16, 2008 · 8 Comments

Because I ascribe to the belief that one can never really truly spoil a baby by holding them…c’mon, people, they are immobile, helpless and actually need and crave human touch in order to thrive…I carried my five children as infants in a sling practically everywhere. It was always so much easier. I met their need to be close and snuggled and I had my hands free to juggle with. I never imagined that I would be “wearing” my grandbaby some day but here I am “wearing” Hazel while I am doing the laundry, making lunch for Daniel and playing with his new rocket launcher with him. Tradition is a pretty neat thing.

Hazel wants it to be known that just because her grandmommy’s head and sinuses hurt it is no excuse to forget about the Daily Hazel. She also wants it to be known that she is a fan of her Uncle Dan like so many others.
