road trip

July 8, 2008 · 3 Comments

Call me weird but this cross country road trip seriously sounds like a lot of fun. I’m thinking it is the 7 days without kids, no car seats that is the most attractive because I have ridden cross country from Pennsylvania to California a number of times as kid. It wasn’t fun for me…but then again I was traveling with my family which meant traveling with my younger siblings and my half-crazed mother. It’s not like I can blame her…I’d be crazed too if I was traveling cross country with four children, three of them being absolute monsters. Thank goodness she had a “perfect, angelic” daughter to hold it all together for her. Seriously, this road trip looks like it might be a little bit of fun to vicariously enjoy. Let’s see how it goes.

Ladies, you are more than welcome to stop in Manteca…I mean you will have to drive past it. You may as well stop here under the Big Top.

It’s not like I am intending on doing this every month but bear with me because Hazel is my very first grandchild.

Oh my goodness, Holly’s baby-girl is one month old!

Time flies. It flew by when my babies were babies and now it is zooming along with this sweet, beautiful grand-baby of mine. I warned Holly about this as we shared this mother-daughter-oh-my-God moment the other day. In the moment to moment, day to day business of caring for a newborn with a belly the size of a tablespoon who needs to eat or to be changed or to be burped or rocked and soothed or cuddled practically every 2 hours can be exhausting… who am I kidding, it is freaking soul sucking, bone weary exhausting…but it is worth it.
