a whole lot of nothing accomplished today

It has been one of those days where no matter how much I juggled I felt like nothing was getting done.

Really, nothing got done!

Look at the pile of dirty dishes in my sink or the dust bunnies everywhere. Just look at the piles of photographs, scrapbook supplies and albums that need to be worked on. I would say check out that pile of bills but only if you are going to pay them for me and as for that laundry, well, there is always laundry under the Big Top. It seriously looks like I got nothing done today.

  • Up at 7:00 A.M.
  • breakfast with kids
  • feed baby for Holly while she is in the shower
  • get dressed and brush my teeth
  • remember that I need to brush my hair too
  • brush my hair
  • go with Holly and Hazel to her post-partum appointment with the midwife
  • spend the next 2 hours at the midwife
  • return home and offer to watch and feed Hazel while Holly takes her check to the bank and pays bills
  • hold and rock Hazel
  • take Jodie to the pediatrician because her hack-up-a-lung cough is just not getting better after 2 weeks of antibiotics
  • spend and hour at the pediatrician
  • head to Target to pick up Jodie’s prescription
  • wait an hour for Jodie’s prescription
  • kill time picking up this and that that we need including a new swimsuit for Daniel
  • momentarily panic because it is now 3:30 PM and I realize that I need to turn in my RNC test application at work and today is the deadline. Will the boss be there if I ever get out of Target I wonder?
  • FINALLY get Jodie’s prescription and head home.
  • score major mommy points giving Daniel his swimsuit.
  • laugh at my crazy boy as he strips in the garage and puts the suit on before he heads out to the slip n’ slide set up in the backyard
  • fill out my application for the RNC test
  • drive down to Mo-Town, Holly, Hazel and Zoë in tow
  • drop off testing application paperwork and test fees just in the nick of time…Great! Now I have to study and take the test this September.
  • make small talk and visit at work while they admire my gorgeous granddaughter.
  • stop at BabysRUs so Holly can spend gift card $ on necessities.
  • buy the sweet grandbaby a sun hat because as her Grandmommy I am obsessed with the fact that she needs a sunhat.
  • head home with the girls in drive time traffic
  • arrive home just in time to enjoy dinner. Bill “cooked” so we are having pizza. YEAH Bill!
  • “volunteer” to feed Hazel so her mommy can eat which means I get to cuddle with her again.
  • whine about how it is now 6:00 PM and I got a whole lot of nothing done today until Bill reminds me that I did because I held my granddaughter today.

He’s right. That is an accomplishment. But I still need to get my fat butt to the gym. The girls can handle the dishes. The dust bunnies, laundry, the bills and a shower will have to wait until tomorrow.

pay those girls to do the laundry & vacuume, then you’ll just have the shower & the bills tomorrow and loads of time for Hazel too! ;)
