had a bad day

Yes I did.

I drove most of Sunday night into a very strong, gusty wind. It was so good to be home back under the Big Top, where I belong. But Monday I woke up with incredibly sore hands, arms shoulders. LIke I said, it was a very strong, gusty wind I was driving against for over six hours.

Naturally this would mean that Monday night at work would not be an easy, relaxed night.

Naturally!

I started the night learning that a patient I had before who was critical but doing okay for an itty-bitty baby had died suddenly over the weekend. This only helped to weigh me down as we were very busy with several admissions and missed breaks. I’m not a very happy, pretty person to work with when my blood sugar is lower than a hypoglycemic baby born from a mama with out of control gestational diabetes. I do believe that my co-workers finally believe my stories about how ugly I can get now.

But today has to be, will be a good day. My girls went grocery shopping last night armed with their very own meal plan for the week…meals they intend to make. Now they understand the first step to making mama happy. Perhaps after a good day’s sleep, Tuesday will be a better day. It has to be. It will be.

Time for Vampira the Night Shift Nurse to go to bed!
