That pretty much sums up what our Friday was like. In spite of the howling 50-60 mph winds most of the day, we never lost power nor any trees. Thank goodness. A portion of our back yard is flooded though. That would be the same part that I pointed out to my darling husband last spring as having some drainage issues.

“Yeah, yeah…”, he would mutter promising to take care of it. Of course he never did until early Friday night when it was clear that the spreading back yard lake might threaten the hot tub.

Gah! How he hates it when I am right. You’d think after twenty-five years together he would be used to this fact of our life by now.

They say the worst of the one-two-three punch storm is behind us but listening to the rain outside my window in the wee small hours I wonder. I do know I wish I had the weekend off so I could stay off the roads and stay home just like the weather experts recommend. I just might melt if I get wet. At least I know I weigh enough that the wind can’t blow me away. But since I have been rather witchy I will keep a wary eye out for any flying tree …or house.
