Because I know everyone wonders what happens to the lost luggage that is never found…

Sacramento International Airport Baggage Claim
Our luggage, on the other hand, is home safe and sound as are we. Be it ever so humble, there’s no place like our Big Top.

We came, we saw, we made some close, personal friends (sort of), we won (a little bit of) money. But we miss our family so much and we are so ready to head back home.
more later but first we muct get back to the Big Top.

the view from our room

Don’t be jealous of the flight we had. Poor Holly joined that exclusive mile-high club of pregnant women who barf on the plane…something else we have in common.
All’s well that ends well I guess because here we are in Paris…Vegas.

Now when I wrote in the last post that I didn’t want to go to work, I didn’t mean that I wanted to get called away from work for an emergency. Holly ended up in the ER with severe pain and cramping.
They say nurses sometimes make the worst kind of patients. I’m thinking I am far worse as the support person for a patient. With my mind racing after my fears I managed to behave pretty badly trying to locate my daughter’s room, inquiring what labs were to be drawn and questioning why I couldn’t come with her to have an ultrasound done.

Staring at her empty bed in the ER I was thinking, “WTF?! Why can’t I come with her? What if…? Oh for goodness sakes? Didn’t that tech see my hospital badge? I need to be with my little girl! What can possibly be taking so long?
And just before I was going to rush out to the nurses’ station to demand, er, see what could be taking so long, in comes Holly with the ultrasound tech.
The baby is fine. In fact, the little one was part of a major dance party (complete with flashing disco ball) inside the mommy-club. The problem is kidney stones…again. The treatment is rest, lots and lots of fluids and tylenol for pain.

She’s down with that as you can see.
Now, I’m wondering what is the treatment for the mother-to-be’s mom?
Side note: As it stands now, the Vegas trip is tentatively still on.

Wow! Well, thank goodness we aren’t going there.
Holly and I will be staying here next week in celebration of her twenty-first birthday. Since she is knocked up it won’t exactly be the Vegas vacation she had imagined back when we first booked it. Still there is a day at the spa, dinner, a show here and a show there to keep us busy.
Gosh, I wish I didn’t have to head off to work right now.

…when they are crying for their doctor rather than for you!
and just in case I am wondering how 3 out of 5 of my kids are sick right now, I run across this from another blog:
Everyone seems very unmotivated, unexcited, and under the weather. We are all battling minor colds, coughs, and general malaise - not enough to miss school over.
OMG! These would be symptoms that would suggest staying home! UGH!

Just an update on the results of the ideal “happy” weight.
First of all this is NOT my formula. I found it in a fitness magazine which I linked to. I’m not sure if I should be flattered or chagrined that some folks thought it was my amazing or stupid formula. No, it’s not me. It is someone else’s. I was just curious what other health-minded folks might get when doing the math for themselves.
When I did the math, the formula did seem to work out to what the trainer, who I was working with over the holidays, and I mutually agreed upon based upon my height, my frame size, what would be considered to be a healthy range for my body mass index and my age. After making that discovery I began to ponder if this formula would work for other folks. The results seems to be mixed just as I suspected.
