also thankful for…

the fact that today I am not cooking, baking, roasting, stirring, stuffing, chopping or anything else that involves food preparation. Bill is roasting his famous brine-soaked turkey (Emerick has been in an ice-cold tub of brine for the last 24 hours), mom-in-law is handling the stuffing and sweet potatoes, sis-in-law is “baking” the pies…not unlike the way that I bake, sis is creating her cranberry goodness and my Dad is baking the ham and cooking up everything else that makes up the Feast under the Big Top this year.

I did my part. I cleaned this Big Top top to bottom which included a little purging and (as usual) a lot of laundry. It is so much easier with this cherry-red ensemble. So today I think will I will get in a workout at the gym (my trainer made a point of telling me that they are open this morning…what a guy!), do a little scrapbooking and visiting, drink a little wine and feast on all the wonderful things being prepared today under the Big Top not by me!
